Pastor Theresa Y. Lee accepted Christ at an early age under the pastorate of her father, Rev. Walter Rowe. She progressed in her spiritual development and received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1978. Her burden for souls and love of the Word propelled her into her calling to preach and teach the Gospel. She answered her call to serve the Body of Christ through the Gospel Ministry and was first licensed as a Missionary in 1982, at which time she served under the mentorship of such Evangelists as Corletta Vaughn, Maria Gardner, Gail Patterson, and the late Pastor John Robertson.
Pastor Lee was a member of Holy Ghost Full Gospel Church under Bishop Corletta Vaughn from 1991 to 2000. During this time she served as a Deacon and National Evangelist and provided leadership to the Evangelism Outreach Team. She also completed two years of In-house Bible School, Ministers in Training, and Kingdom Faith Bible College. She later completed training at the Evangelism and World Mission Training School under Missionary JoAnn Rochester.
In 1996, Pastor Lee’s ministry gained international exposure through her treasured friendship with Bishop Margaret E. Benson Idahosa of Benin City, Nigeria. This relationship has afforded her the opportunity to visit 15 provinces in Africa, as well as the Bahamas, South America, the United Kingdom, and Japan. She is a financial partner with the ministry in Nigeria, helping to build a Restoration Center and providing funds to build a church in Dkina, Nigeria. Through her church planting in Indonesia and the Phillipines, Heart For Missions Ministries was birthed.
In September 2003, Pastor Lee joined New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Full Gospel in her hometown of Pontiac, Michigan under the pastorate of Bishop William H. Murphy, Jr.
On September 18, 2005, after 24 years as an Evangelist, Pastor Lee exploded into her calling to preach and New Birth International Church (Ministries) was birthed. With the love and support of her husband of 33 years, Larry E.J. Lee, Pastor Lee continues to impart her vast gifts and experience upon those under her leadership.
With grace, excitement and energy she delivers the Word of God to all in her midst. Her sincere love of the Holy Spirit is illuminated in every message she delivers. As the Holy Spirit erupts within her, she is given dynamic presence.
God has preserved her well — He blessed her abundantly — the Holy Spirit lives within her.
